Mrs. Wigand’s Classroom Rules and Consequences
2016-17
Classroom Discipline Philosophy:
Obedience is the act of doing what you are told with a happy heart. It is a way to show love and respect for those people God has placed in authority over us.
Discipline is an act of love. We discipline those placed under our authority to show love and respect for the wonderful person that God has created. It is a responsibility granted to us as authority figures by God to guide His creation to walk with Him.

Classroom Rules
- Listen and follow all directions.
- Always do your best work, and learn something new each day.
- Love your neighbor as yourself.
Positive Consequences
- Working hard and completing work ahead of time can lead to extra games and activities.
Negative Consequences
- A student who breaks a class or school rule will be subject to positive redirection and natural consequences.
- If a student repeatedly breaks class or school rules or causes a disruption to the learning environment, he/she will be subject to being removed from the group to work alone and parents will be called in for a conference. At such a time we will discuss possible causes for the behavior and a behavior plan to encourage correct behavior.
- In extreme cases, where a student uses hands or feet to touch a child or teacher in an inappropriate way, or is blatantly disrespectful or deliberately disruptive, or cheats on an assignment, the child will be sent to the office, parents will be called, and a pink slip will be issued.
- Time Out will be used when students need some time to “calm down” so they do not hurt themselves or others or do something that will cause them to be in a serious discipline situation. Students will be released from Time Out when they feel they are calm and ready to rejoin the group..
