Important Policies:
Please make every effort to have your child at school by 8:15. We will enter the classroom at 8:20. Instruction will begin promptly at 8:25.
You must sign your child in if they are not in the classroom by 8:25.
Three tardies will equal 1 absence.
Three early check outs will equal 1 absence.
Your child may not be signed out between 2:15-2:40.
A study group will be offered Mondays from 2:50-3:50. Study group is by invitation only.

The last day to order yearbooks for $40 is Monday, October 31st.
Please return report cards signed and in the envelope by Tuesday, November 1st.

Nightly: Study spelling words, Bible verse, math facts, read assigned reading chapters, math homework page, grammar page
Bible: Jacob's Dream
Bible Verse: 10/28 Proverbs 3:3 "Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.."
Spelling: throat, cocoa, goalpost, crossroads, microphone, known, although, comb, loaves, thorough, who, now, people, made, over
Grammar: singular and plural nouns, irregular nouns, possessive nouns
Vocabulary: Unit 6 definitions, antonyms, and synonyms will be tested on Wednesday, Nov. 9th. The spelling of these words will be tested on Friday, November 11th.
Reading: We will read Little Grunt and the Big Egg from our readers as a class. Each reading group will begin a new novel this week.
Math Timed Tests:
Subtraction timed tests- 100 problems in four minutes- Tuesday
XtraMath: Students must complete at least 3 sessions per week. Each session must be completed on a different day. (Week runs Monday through Sunday.)
Math:
Chapter 2 Test on Tuesday.
Adding two-digit numbers
Adding three-digit numbers
Adding three or more numbers
Social Studies:
American Liberty- Students will study the freedom Americans enjoy and the price of freedom. Students will identify and discuss some positive character traits of various Americans, past and present, who have expanded people's rights and freedoms.
Science:
Plant Life Cycles: Understand how plants grow and reproduce. Recognize the life cycles of different types of plants.
